In 1992, Mr. Dosson bought a hotel in the Old Port, near the city center of Marseille. Originally, the establishment was known as the “Hotel Phocéa”. Subsequently, the establishment joined several hotel chains such as “Climat de France”, “Louvre Hôtels” then “Kyriad”. In 2010, the franchise contract ended and the Hôtel Carré Vieux Port had 49 rooms and thus became independent.

What is the Hôtel Carré Vieux Port Marseille?
First of all, it's a family business... Founded in 1992 by Mr. Philippe Dosson (my father), then in 2000, Mrs. Paule Dosson (my mother) and I took over the family business following Mr. Dosson's death. In 2009, my sister Marie-Sarah Dosson decided to share the experience with us. And since then, the hotel has endured in the warm, family spirit.

From 1992 to 2010 The story of a symbol of the Old Port
From 2013 to 2015 The new era
In 2013, major work was undertaken to expand the establishment and offer higher quality services. During the two years of work, twelve additional rooms were created, the different floors were served by an elevator, and the common areas and reception were renovated and made accessible to people with reduced mobility.
In 2019, we opened six rooms with balconies and partial views of the port, and our cheap hotel in Marseille also obtained the Green Key Label.
Our comfort rooms were renovated in the last quarter of 2022 and first quarter of 2023! A warmer feel with wood, more storage, more light, more circulation space... a must-see!
Between December 2023 and August 2024, thanks to the acquisition of the bakery on the corner, we were able to move the reception area to this location, move the breakfast room down to the ground floor with a terrace, and, most importantly, create 6 additional rooms.
The Carré Vieux Port Marseille hotel now has 67 rooms!
And for the future? Current projects
In a desire for constant improvement, we have new projects.
Expanding further? We're trying, but it's quite complicated...
The plan is therefore to try to duplicate the Hôtel Carré elsewhere ;)
